About me

I first invested in bitcoin in 2013 after reading the white paper by Satoshi Nakamoto. It struck me as a very interesting, potentially revolutionary new idea, so I put a little money in and sat back to see what would happen.

Since then I’ve watched the evolution of this exciting, controversial, and often completely unhinged industry. I’ve held through the bubbles and the crashes. I’ve watched the warring of crypto tribes. I’ve seen day traders get rich and go broke, and scammers get caught and disappear. The only constants thus far have been the media’s total inability to make sense of it all, and its refusal to go away.

I’ve also continued to educate myself and maintain a mindset that is true to the core principles of crypto, and I’ve diversified into other coins and projects besides bitcoin. If you look in the right places, you can find people quietly building infrastructure that will soon be woven into the fabric of our everyday lives. It’s a new system that combines finance and the internet in a way that will reduce friction and create exciting new opportunities. I believe we’re still at the beginning of this transformation, and my goal is to simply teach people about this misunderstood technology, and help people learn to use it responsibly.

What I Am Not

  • I am not a financial advisor. I only provide you with tools and information. Any transactions you decide to make you will carry out yourself.
  • I am not a “crypto bro”. I will not try to push you towards any specific coins or even to invest at all, and I will always disclose my own holdings so you can evaluate potential conflicts of interest.
  • I will NEVER EVER ask you for your passwords, seed phrases, or even what or how much you invest.
  • I will never see or have access to your brokerage accounts or wallets.
  • I don’t make money based on how much you invest, or how much you earn or lose. I only charge a flat consultation fee.
  • I will not provide you with any hardware wallets or computing devices, I will only show you how to acquire them directly from reputable sources.
  • I am not a computer programmer or computer scientist, my interest and understanding of crypto is conceptual, an “everyday user” point of view.
  • If you have questions that I don’t know the answer to, I will do the research and come back with well-sourced answers.
  • I have chosen to remain anonymous on this website for security reasons, but of course once you reach out we will meet online or in person.
